Looking Through the Rear View Mirror: Richmond

Coming off an off weekend, things should have been all ready to go and refreshed for the Richmond race weekend.

Several tracks had specials deals to help with the devastation in the south after the tornadoes.

Who would have thought Richmond a fuel mileage race? Well it came close to that in the Nationwide race, but a caution in the closing laps gave the leaders a chance to pit.

Thanks Speed channel for telling me Danica finished in the top ten when she didn’t even race, wasn’t even in the country at the time. Guess it does happen when you share a ride.

NASCAR even admitted during the driver’s meeting of the cup race that they made a mistake during the Nationwide race about penalizing Carl Edwards for trying to get his car running up to 3 pits away.

It was reported that Trevor Bayne is at the Mayo Clinic getting tests run. Trevor tweeted that he was still at the hospital but doesn’t think it’s related to the bite from last month. I wish Trevor the best and speedy recovery, and hope he is able to drive this week at Darlington.

Pit Road seemed to be the place to cause some drivers trouble during the Cup race. Denny Hamlin had some trouble, Martin Truex Jr got so frustrated after one of his stops he fired his crew.

There were only 9 cars on the lead lap when the race ended. How much more dominating could Kyle Busch be?

A Big shout out to the #30 EchoStar Technologies driven by David Stremme. In their first attempt at NASCAR racing they made the race and finished 34th.

Tommy Baldwin racing is in the top 35 in Owners points for the first time in their history.
