COTA To Plant 296 Trees In Honor Of Sebastian Vettel

AUSTIN, Texas (October 21, 2022) – Circuit of The Americas (COTA) yesterday hosted a special commemoration for Sebastian Vettel on the occasion of his last Formula 1 United States Grand Prix to celebrate his contributions to the sport and environmental causes which have inspired so many people.

COTA announced it will plant 296 trees across its community, in honor of the total amount of F1 races Vettel will reach at this weekend’s USGP.
The first 20 of these trees have been planted on COTA’s campus on what will now be known as the ‘Vettel Grove’.  The occasion was officially marked during a sapling distribution ceremony at COTA attended by Sebastian Vettel and COTA Founder and Chairman, Bobby Epstein, with the four-times World champion presented with a ‘golden shovel’ to plant the final tree. Moreover, at the ceremony, Vettel decided to pledge 296 more with partner TreeFolks located in Austin.
The trees planted at the ‘Vettel Grove’ include a mix of approximately twenty 30-gal, 15-gal and 5-gal trees and a bronze monument will be added at a later date to commemorate the occasion. The remaining trees will be planted in a grove at nearby park to help with floodplain restoration.
