Heather Does a Pit Stop…. At School!

I never really had school car pool with my kids. But last week I filled in for a friend and did the school car pool.

You may ask why I am telling you this?

Well, after 3 days of school car pool, I realized it was a lot like a NASCAR pit stop.

You enter the school zone like you would pit road, watch out for the orange cone.

If you are dropping off for school, it’s like a timed pit stop. Hurry and move out of the way.

Pick up well unless you time it right as your child comes out, you have to keep moving forward or find a parking space. Timing is everything.

You had better be paying attention to all around you too. Those kids and teachers moving around the lot. Cars pulling out of line to leave.

Spotters or Crew chiefs needed to clear you out of line.

Beware of that crossing guard at pit out.

Never had thought of how this two things were alike until doing last week.

What other every day chore is like something in NASCAR. You could say driving in rush hour traffic could be like a plate race.

Tell me what in your life makes you think of NASCAR?

What makes me think of NASCAR? Heavy traffic makes me think of stubbing my tires. Which I am sure makes those around me wonder what the heck is going on.

Fast moving traffic reminds me of Talladega and all I want to do is get to the front of the field to avoid the big one. My wife hates when I make it 4 wide….
