Bowyer Wins Michigan as Stewart-Haas Racing Goes 1-2-3

Clint Bowyer got his second win of the season at the rain delayed and shortened Michigan race. It was not only a good day for Bowyer but for Stewart-Haas Racing as they took the top three positions with Kevin Harvick second and pole-sitter Kurt Busch, third. Aric Almirola finished 11th after starting 6th.  In fact, all four cars started the race in the top 12. That is a pretty impressive feat.

After a 24 hour weather delay due to snow, we were treated to a rather competitive but tame race with Clint Bowyer leading 215 laps and driving away for the win. Denny Hamlin won the Stage 1 after leading 111 laps. Ryan Blaney won Stage 2 and led 145 laps. After that, it was the Clint Bowyer show.

Martin Truex, Jr. Takes Charge in Fontana

You knew that Martin Truex, Jr. had a fast car after snaring the pole for the race. But Kevin Harvick also had a fast car, setting a track record during practice. But an early, and unlikely, crash in Stage 1 sent Harvick to the garage and opened the door for someone else to win the race. That someone turned out to be Truex, who started on the pole, won both Stages, led the most laps and lapped most of the field on his way to a dominating win.
