This weekend was the start of the NASCAR racing season with the ARCA race that saw Michael Self towing the remaining cars across the finish line, with Hailie Deegan staying in line to record her first ever runner up position at Daytona. It was only fitting that the four title contenders all started in the top 4 spots this past weekend. All four drivers had a shot to win and they all led laps. But it was the mistake free team that won the race and gave Kyle Busch the title. (more…)

Kevin Harvick came into Texas knowing that it is one of his best tracks and he needed to show everyone that he still knew how to win a race. While he didn’t win any stages, he won the race and led a race high 119 laps, most of those in the final stage. Harvick started on the pole but was penalized after a tire infraction on pit road that sent him to the back. (more…)

Going into this race, we all knew the JGR teams were going to be tough to beat, but I don’t think anyone thought they would go 1-2-3-4 at the finish. Nor did anyone think that two of the drivers would set the pace leading 311 of the 400 laps. If you are a Toyota fan, this was your race.
A familiar refrain was heard this weekend at Las Vegas from the playoff drivers – “Stay out of my lane!”
I was at the track the first time Kevin Harvick won at The Brickyard and his monster burnout down the front stretch was spectacular. 16 years later, Harvick gains his 2nd Brickyard win and his third win of the season heading into the playoffs. (more…)
