Thompson, CT — While sunshine brought fans and teams back to Thompson Speedway in droves to wrap up the 2023 season at the 5/8-mile oval, both groups were also welcomed with good news. It was announced at the drivers meeting on Sunday that the partnership between the American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Stars Series organizations will continue to lease the Thompson Speedway oval for the 2024 season. Thompson, CT — Although rains dampened much of Friday’s planned mid-day practice sessions, the 61 Sunoco World Series was able to start off with a bang as the Milton CAT Modified Racing Series and Mighty Mini Stock Tour were both able to crown their touring champions and the Thompson Late Models saw a return champion in victory lane. Three days of racing will seal up the season for both the Thompson track championship divisions and multiple touring series during the annual showcase of Northeast stock car racing.
(Stafford Springs, CT)—NAPA Championship Night at Stafford Speedway will bring to a conclusion the season long duel for the championship between Street Stock heavyweights Ryan Waterman and Travis Hydar. This season the #31 Fairway Independent Mortgage Mike Rogers Team crew of Waterman and the #11 Hydar Construction crew of Hydar have combined to win 12 of the 14 races thus far with Waterman holding the edge with 7 wins to Hydar’s 5.
Wiscasset Speedway hosted their Group #2 Championship Night on Saturday, which was highlighted by the Amsoil Dominator Strictly Shootout. The annual event, founded by Dave Brannon and sponsored by Lee Mortenson and Four Season Synthetic, draws in some of the best Street Stock drivers from across New England. This year’s race was no different as 45 drivers competed for 28 starting positions in the main event. (more…)
