Redemption for Gabe Brown in Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Fall Foliage 200 Win at WMMP

N. Woodstock, NH — Twenty-nine American-Canadian Tour teams entered the pit area of White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday morning with twenty-eight able to take the green for the 46th running of the Fall Foliage 200 presented by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. It was a Southern New Hampshire pair who led the field to green with former White Mountain Late Model Rookie of the Year Bryan Wall Jr. securing the pole position with a +3 earned in heat three alongside former ACT top freshman Erick Sands.

The two battled in the opening rounds of the 200-lap main event with Sands taking the upper hand to lead the way through lap 26 before Gabe Brown took over the point. Brown, coming off last Saturday’s successful Wall’s Ford Platinum Series triple crown title fight, utilized his knowledge of the track to stranglehold the lead through several quick-spin caution periods in the early goings. Thompson, CT — The Street Stocks got Sunday’s Back to School Bash at Thompson Speedway off to a rip-roaring start with polesitter Austin Flanagan quickly losing the lead under the green flag with an ill-handling machine. The lone caution flag flew just before the halfway point as Mike Viens went into the spin cycle in turn one. Scott Dragon Takes First NEFCU+VSECU Labor Day Classic at Thunder Road Hometrack

Barre, VT — Beautiful skies and full crowds greeted the traveling band of American-Canadian Tour faithful for their second visit of the year to Thunder Road International Speedbowl. The NEFCU+VSECU Labor Day Classic saw thirty-one cars enter the pit gate and qualify for starting position in the annual 200-lap holiday weekend event. ACT Rookie of the Year hopeful and current Thunder Road track championship point leader Kaiden Fisher earned the pole alongside former top rookie Erick Sands with both drivers taking a ‘+4’ in the Plus/Minus handicap system.

Fisher would immediately fall back to the rear with a caution prior to the first completed lap with fellow rookie Cole Littlewood. Another quick spin caution re-racked the field once more out of the gate before the field settled in on the lap five restart. Marcel Gravel and Erick Sands battled hard on the return to green but it was the Thunder Road ace Gravel that put the power down on the outside groove. Soon after, two-time track champion Scott Dragon also rounded the ACT regular and set his sights on Gravel. (more…)

NEW 4:00pm Start Time Sunday, September 1st, Labor Day Weekend Camping Begins Friday

Barre, VT — Thunder Road and American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials announced today a small change in schedule for the 46th Labor Day Classic 200 program presented by NEFCU/VSECU on Sunday, September 1. The annual 200 lap affair will continue to be held on Sunday, September 1 but will move to an evening special with an afternoon Post Time of 4:00pm.

The annual Labor Day weekend special has annually been held with a 1:30pm post time but Thunder Road and ACT officials have cited several reasons for the move. “Moving to 4:00pm will hopefully eliminate the need for teams to find a place to stay overnight Saturday and still get home at a decent hour Sunday night,” said Thunder Road and ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “The side-by-side racing on Thursday nights has been fantastic this season and ACT under the lights at Thunder Road is sure to be a great show!” (more…)
