Cliff Saunders & Paul Varricchio, Jr. Score Aug. 23 Late Model Feature Wins; Talman, Chapman, Lavoie, & Downey Also Notch Wins at Stafford

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted another round of Weekly Racing with twin Late Model feature events on Friday, Aug. 23rd. Cliff Saunders and Paul Varricchio, Jr. were the winners of the Late Model feature events with Saunders picking up his first win of the season and Varricchio using a last lap pass to record his second win of the season. Troy Talman was victorious for the third time this season in the SK Modified® feature, Tyler Chapman notched his sixth win of the season in the SK Light feature, Jeremy Lavoie took down his first win of the season in the Limited Late Model feature, and Travis Downey scored win #2 of the season in the Street Stock feature. Steven Chapman and Amanda West Continue Trend of 2024 First-Time Winners at Stafford Speedway

(Stafford Springs, CT)—For any driver, a first victory is a special occurrence and the Friday, August 16 Lincoln Tech 80 program at Stafford Speedway welcomed two new winners, Steven Chapman and the #14 Chapman Apartment Homes team in the SK Modified® division, and Amanda West and the #15 McKinney Construction team in the SK Light division. New winners have been a theme at Stafford in 2024 with Chapman and West becoming the 8th and 9th different first-time winners during the 2024 season. Chapman’s win was his third overall career win at Stafford but first in the SK Modified® division, while West’s victory was a first in any division at Stafford.

Kevin Gambacorta and Paul Varricchio, Jr. Lead Late Model Division Into Aug. 23 Double Header at Stafford Speedway

(Stafford Springs, CT)—With Stafford’s Late Model division set to partake in a double header this Friday, August 23^rd, the race for the championship is coming into focus. Kevin Gambacorta, the driver of the #23 Lavigne Law Chevrolet and Paul Varricchio, Jr., driver of the #39 Tavern on the Trax Chevrolet, kicked off the 2024 season racing one another for the season opening NAPA Spring Sizzler® victory and they are still the two drivers to beat in the race for the championship. Both Gambacorta and Varricchio opened the season with strong results, Gambacorta recording 6 consecutive podium finishes and 2 wins, and Varricchio recording 3 podium finishes, including his first career victory on May 31st, and they have continued to run well all season long as the only 2 drivers to record top-10 finishes in each of the first 11 races.

Rufrano, Varricchio, Hovey, Theriault, & Trott Score AZ Roofing Kids Night Feature Wins at Stafford Speedway

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted AZ Roofing Kids Night on Friday, May 31st, the first of three kids nights scheduled for the 2024 season. It was a night of first-time 2024 winners with Marcello Rufrano taking the SK Modified® feature, Paul Varricchio, Jr. the Late Model feature, Nickolas Hovey the SK Light feature, Kyle Theriault the Limited Late Model feature, and Tyler Trott the Street Stock feature. (Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted the 52nd Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler® on Sunday, April 28 with feature events for the SK Modified® and SK Light divisions. Troy Talman notched his first career Stafford SK Modified® feature victory with a thrilling last lap pass on Marcello Rufrano while the SK Light feature event was halted with 8 laps complete due to rain.

Alexander Pearl Ready to Contend for SK Light Championship at Stafford

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Coming into the 2023 season at Stafford Speedway, Alexander Pearl and the #7 Darling Auto Parts team were riding a 5-season streak of winning at least one race per season, dating back to Pearl’s rookie season of 2018. Although Pearl notched three second place finishes last season, he ended up winless for the first time in his SK Light career. With the 2024 season set to kick off at the end of April, Pearl has his sights set on starting a new winning streak.

AZ Roofing Covering Stafford Speedway’s SK Lights in 2024

(Stafford Springs, CT)—For the 2024 racing season at Stafford Speedway, AZ Roofing of Bristol, CT will become the newest member of the Stafford Speedway Contingency Program, offering a weekly $150 bonus to each SK Light feature winner. AZ Roofing’s bonus will boost the weekly SK Light feature winner’s purse to $800 and with 22 races on the schedule, SK Light drivers have the opportunity to earn an extra $3,300 during the 2024 season.

Monaco Ford Driving Safety and SK Light Modifieds at Stafford Speedway in 2024

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Monaco Ford of Glastonbury, CT will return to Stafford Speedway in 2024 as the official sponsor of the Monaco Ford Safety Team and supply two 2024 Ford trucks for the safety team to utilize on track. Monaco Ford will also be seen as sponsors on the SK Light car #46 of Brian Sullivan and the #75 SK Modified® and Open Modified cars of David Arute during the 2024 season at Stafford Speedway.
