Highmark Building Efficiency To Present Jason Sheppard Crew Chief Of The Race Award At Eddie Partridge 256 Saturday

Monday afternoon, John Ellwood, GM of Riverhead Raceway along with Rich Gerbe of HighMark Building Efficiency announced the Jason Sheppard Crew Chief of the Race Award for the WMT Eddie Partridge 256 Saturday at Riverhead Raceway. The award celebrates the racing career and life of Jason Sheppard, longtime crew chief for Eric Goodale on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour who passed away suddenly in August.

Justin Bonsignore & Ron Silk Bring 2024 WMT Championship Fight To Riverhead Raceway Eddie Partridge 256

There is nothing like a good old-fashioned NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour tussle on a quarter mile bullring with huge championship implications hanging in the balance. That is the scenario awaiting Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville and Ron Silk of Norwalk heading to Riverhead Raceway for the Eddie Partridge 256 Saturday September 14th. For the two most recent WMT champions Saturday’s race will be Déjà vu all over again after they waged a titanic battle during last year’s 256 prior to Justin Bonsignore taking the victory.

Timmy Solomito Repeats In Riverhead Raceway Cecil Palm Tree 66 Wednesday

For the second consecutive season, the Cecil Palm Tree 160 was adversely affected by weather the original date forcing Riverhead Raceway management to reschedule the race run in honor of Eddie Partridge. The race was shifted to Wednesday night, the distance again modified to 66 laps, which was just fine with defending race winner Timmy Solomito of Islip who led all the way scoring his third win of 2024.

Solomito set the tone in qualifying laying down a lap of 11.750 with Mark Stewart and John Beatty Jr. clicking off identical laps of 11.815. It would be Stewart lining-up alongside Solomito as the field took the green from Partridge’s nephew Tom Gatz and daughter Alexis. Solomito, winner of the most recent event at Riverhead winning the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 on August 17th broke right to the lead with Stewart right behind.

Mike Rutkoski Turns Season Around With Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Modified Victory Saturday

NASCAR Modified talent Michael Rutkoski of Mattituck turned his 2024 season around Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway leading wire-to-wire to win the 50-lap First Responders Night event. Rutkoski has endured a rough season up until the calendar flipped from July to August, it was then the 2018 Crate Modified champion felt a shift in fortune that led to his 2nd career win Saturday.

SRO Crowd Witness Jeremy McDermott Score Late Model Victory At Riverhead Raceway Saturday

On a picture-perfect evening, a standing room only crowd packed Riverhead Raceway for the final School Bus Demolition Derby of 2024. Prior to the mayhem, the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series was in action with Jeremy McDermott of Riverhead capturing the headline 40-lap Late Model feature event for his third win of the season.

Joe Warren Jr & Brandon Hubbard Top Wednesday Night Winners At Riverhead Raceway

The annual Monster Truck Back to School program filled Riverhead Raceway Wednesday evening, during the program Joe Warren Jr. of Ridge was declared the 20-lap Mini Stock winner, while Brandon Hubbard scored his third Truck Enduro win of 2024. After seven action packed stock car events unfolded the KSR Monster Trucks took to the track and did not disappoint. Bad News Travels Fast got the fans on their feet when he slow-rolled his truck.

Late Pit Strategy Pays Off For John Beatty Jr With $9,455 Victory In Oval Speed Unlimited Bubba 150

As the laps clicked off Saturday in the 5th annual Oval Speed Unlimited 150 NASCAR Modified event at Riverhead Raceway, John Beatty wondered if he and his team’s strategy to pit late in the race would leave them the only car not to pit for a change tire. Those fears were quelled when a caution flag flew with 28-laps left allowing Beatty of Merrick to pit for his new right rear tire. That, with some well-placed late cautions put John Beatty in position to win his second race in three weeks at Riverhead Raceway, earning $9.455 including lap money.

Riverhead Raceway Homecoming Complete For JB Fortin With NASCAR Modified Victory Saturday

During the off-season JB Fortin of Holtsville and family made the difficult decision to leave the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour as a series regular, opening the door for a return to weekly Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series competition at Riverhead Raceway. Saturday, JB Fortin completed his racing homecoming with his 4th career victory winning the 50-lap feature event for his first victory since the 2021 Islip 300.

The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame To Induct Barbara & Jim Cromarty

Thursday evening May 30th,2024 will be a very special one in the rich history of stock car racing on Long Island. Yet not an engine will be fired, nor a lap turned. The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame will induct Barbara & Jim Cromarty into the hall recognizing their 39 years in racing as promoters of Islip Speedway and owners/promoters of Riverhead Raceway. The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be hosted at Flowerfields of St. James.
