Thunder Road Announces Squier Cup Late Model Triple Crown to Honor Late Founder

Barre, VT — Starting a picture-perfect day on Quarry Hill last Sunday, Thunder Road Speedbowl managing partner Cris Michaud announced the creation of the Squier Cup in honor of late Thunder Road founder Ken Squier with a new granite monument at the Speedbowl he created back in 1960. The Squier Cup is a triple crown series for the Maplefield/Irving Late Models that call Thunder Road home every week, made up of three marquee events with the inaugural champion earning their name in Barre Gray granite and the first name on the new Squier Cup! Cody Blake Makes it Two Memorial Day Classics at Thunder Road

Barre, VT — On a beautiful Sunday morning, Thunder Road officials announced the creation of the Squier Cup for the Late Model Triple Crown at the Nation’s Site of Excitement starting with the 61st Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic. Monaco Modifieds Ready to Rumble Thunder Road on Memorial Day Weekend

Barre, VT — The teams of the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series are gearing up for their first event of the season at Thunder Road International Speedbowl as part of the 61st Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic on Sunday, May 26. Thunder Road’s Nolato Night Moved to Friday, August 11th with Threat of Rain

Barre, VT — It wouldn’t be a Thursday in Central Vermont, in the summer of 2024, without the threat of rain and today is certainly no different. With rain forecasted to come into the greater Barre area right at Thursday’s Thunder Road post time of 7:00pm and staying through to Midnight tonight, officials opted to play it safe and move the Nolato Night program to tomorrow, Friday, August 11th.

Barre, VT — While a rightfully dreary forecast tattered Sunday plans for the American-Canadian Tour at Thunder Road, Mother Nature laid the groundwork for something New England race fans had been craving since last October. The 26th annual Community Bank, N.A. 150 was the first of its existence to be under the lights of the Nation’s Site of Excitement on Saturday night, and exciting it was. Thirty-nine American-Canadian Tour Late Models were whittled down to a twenty-nine car starting field for a fantastic showing at the Tour’s homebase with many storylines competing for the top spot!
