Forecasts for a wet weekend on Long Island became reality Saturday forcing NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour officials and Riverhead Raceway management to rest the Eddie Partridge 256 WMT program to Saturday October 4th. With the forecasted rain predicted to hit right in the middle of WMT practice and or qualifying Saturday and lasting into Sunday the decision to move the event back a month was made early Saturday morning.Ground-Pounding Monaco Modifieds Prepare For Thunder Road’s 4th Annual Granite City 100
Barre, VT – The mighty Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series is ready to make its 4th annual trip to the Nation’s Site of Excitement, Thunder Road for the Granite City 100 as part of the 62nd running of the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic this Sunday, May 25!
The Modifieds have a long but often underrated history in the Green Mountain State. The powerful NASCAR Modifieds were first introduced to Thunder Road in 1965 in a short head-to-head season with the Flathead V-8 Coupes that put the Nation’s Site of Excitement on the map in the early days of Thursday Night racing at the facility. The Modifieds were short-lived to the Spring of ’65 with Coupe drivers and fans alike nearly in revolt but found a home in the often-remembered Catamount Stadium for several seasons afterward while making here-and-there appearances at Devil’s Bowl and Thunder Road over the years.
Doubleheader Weekend To Kick Start 75th Anniversary Celebration Of Riverhead Raceway May 3rd & May 4th
The 2025 season at Riverhead Raceway will celebrate a milestone anniversary of the Route 58 oval as the track enters its 75th year of providing stock car racing thrills and family entertainment events. Track owners Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz will get the 75th Anniversary party started with a doubleheader weekend May 3rd and May 4th. Saturday evening the NASCAR Pack the Track opener will unfold for the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series racers, while Sunday afternoon the Enduro & INEX Bandolero stars take to the track for the May Meltdown program.
