Chemung, N.Y. – (May 1, 2021) – Chemung (N.Y.) Speedrome will provide the stage for the Race of Champions Modified Series return to racing in its home state of New York. The series was “idle” in the Empire State during the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic that wreaked havoc worldwide. WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Demetrios Drellos picked up right where he left off last year: On top at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. The reigning Sportsman Modified champion opened the new season on Saturday, May 1, with a dominant win during a wildly unpredictable night presented by Mike’s Fuels of Bridport. A total of 118 racecars jammed the pit area and outer parking lot as a nice spectator crowd filtered in for the 2021 lid-lifter, and Drellos collected a whopping $3,200 for his victory in the race honoring the late Matt Bilodeau. During the off season former Blunderbust driver Rob Bader wanted to return grassroots racing in 2021 and during the winter went out and got a Street Stock for competition at Riverhead Raceway. Among the goals Rob set was for the car to be a tribute to his late Uncle Jay Hulse former Charger driver. Then unexpected wrist surgery put Rob on injured list but undaunted he tabbed good friend Brian Brown of Riverhead to steer the car in Sunday’s May Meltdown event and in a storybook finish Brown delivered an emotional win for Bader and his family. Belsito Prevails in GSPSS Triple 20s at Mad Dog

Aunique race format and an ill-handling car were not enough to slow Angelo Belsito down on Sunday afternoon, as he dominated the Granite State Pro Stock Series show at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH.  Belsito was able to outpace the entire field en route to his fourth victory in the Granite State Pro Stock Series and first at the ¼-mile New Hampshire bullring known as “Mad Dog.”

Barre, VT — A huge field of cars filed through the pits for the Thunder Road Car Show and Practice Day on Saturday, May 1. When all was said and done, 119 drivers across 4 divisions took to the track in preparation for the Community Bank N.A. 150 on FloRacing this Sunday, May 2. Pitkat and Stan Mertz Racing Finish Seventh at Monadnock

WINCHESTER, N.H. — After a long day at Monadnock Speedway in the season opener for the Tri Track Open Modified Series, Woody Pitkat and Stan Mertz Racing finished seventh. Pitkat won his qualifying heat, driving the Twisted Tea/Truly Hard Seltzer No. 6 to the front of the 15-lap contest, and in the feature, a mix of ups, and downs, ended with a solid top-10 run to open the six-race Tri Track Series. It was the first of 10 planned events for the Stan Mertz Racing team for the 2021 season.
