There were fireworks in the air and at times on the track at Riverhead Raceway Saturday during the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program. During a race drivers’ career some victories feel more significant than others for varying reasons. For Richie Davidowitz of East Moriches and his Rat Pack Racing team their victory Saturday in the Eagle Chevrolet Crate 100 at Riverhead Raceway is one of those wins. Setting fast time in qualifying and leading all 100-laps served as sweet redemption for the new pairing who had a runner-up finish stripped away after a tech infraction a couple weeks back.

In celebration of the long-awaited arrival of the summer solstice, Riverhead Raceway management has arranged for a busy night of NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series racing Saturday with the Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modified in the spotlight running their annual 100-lap event. Ten feature events in all are on the racing menu with well over 250-laps of feature event racing to unfold with a School Bus Figure Eight race closing out the program.
Richie Davidowitz Returns To Riverhead Raceway Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modified Victory Lane
Heading into the 2025 race season at Riverhead Raceway, Richie Davidowitz of East Moriches had only planned to run his INEX Legend Race Car a handful of times at his home track. However, a late season opportunity came along with Rat Pack Racing to drive their entry in the Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modifieds, Richie quickly accepted the ride. Saturday in just their second race as a team, Davidowitz drove to victory in the 25-lap Scout Night feature event.
Shawn Solomito Takes Modified Win Saturday At Riverhead Raceway
A chance conversation started during the 2020 Islip 300 last November at Riverhead Raceway morphed into Shawn Solomito of Islip teaming up with Jimmy & Angela Rennick as the driver of their NASCAR Modified and in just their second start together Saturday night Shawn put the new combination into the winners circle at the conclusion of the 50-lap Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modified event. Eric Goodale Heads To Riverhead Raceway With Early Season Championship Lead After Hot Start
In the previous 64 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races contested at Riverhead Raceway there was perhaps no more a popular winner then Eric Goodale of Riverhead when he topped the late Ted Christopher for the win June 28th, 2014. Eric who grew up roughly three miles from the historic quarter mile bullring was swarmed by family and friends after his first career WMT triumph. Saturday May 15th the 35-year old Goodale will come to the Miller Lite 200 at Riverhead as the early season WMT championship leader and is hopeful to repeat the scene from June of 2014. (more…)
John Beatty Jr. Tops Opening Night Modified Feature At Riverhead Raceway Saturday
The gates swung open Saturday evening for the 71st season of stock car racing at Riverhead Raceway and when the checker flag waved on the 50-lap Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modified feature John Beatty Jr. of Merrick sat in the winner circle after surviving a late race restart with 11 laps remaining in the race to post his 9th career victory. Justin Bonsignore Hoping To Extend Riverhead Raceway Win Streak To Five In Miller Lite 200 Saturday May 15th
Defending NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville will return to where it all began for him when the tour makes its first of three visits to Riverhead Raceway Saturday May 15th and with him bring a four race WMT win streak into the Miller Lite 200. The third week of May date is the earliest the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour has ever visited the eastern Long Island facility since it’s inception in 1985. The Miller Lite 200 will mark the 65th WMT race at the track. (more…)
