LAKEVILLE, CONN. (15 MAY 2023)- Lime Rock Park (LRP) will celebrate the 37th anniversary of Paul Newman’s historic Trans-Am win with a rare one-day-only exhibit of his racing estate during the Trans Am Memorial Day Classic (May 26-29). Organized by Sotheby’s in advance of “The World of Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman” auction in June, with logistic support from Salisbury Bank, the exhibit is part of a larger celebration of the late actor and racing legend’s life and career.

Lime Rock Park – Jim Haynes, 1933-2023
With great sadness but deep appreciation, Lime Rock Park notes the passing of one of the major figures in the track’s history. Jim Haynes, a two-time SCCA National Champion driver, purchased Lime Rock Park in 1964 from its builders and over the next 11 years, first as owner and then as general manager, shepherded the facility’s growth from near bankruptcy to internationally recognized motorsports venue.

Lime Rock Park Helped Charlie Downes to a Landmark in African-American Racing History
LAKEVILLE, CONN. (17 February 2023)- Back in the early 1980s, IMSA instituted a one-make division for street legal cars that would set the scene for future competition including the IMSA Firestone Firehawk, SCCA World Challenge and a number of one-marque series.
Black History Month is a good time to remember one of the competitors who ran competitively in the series and made African-American history in the process.

John Fitch’s Impact on Lime Rock Park
