Joey Logano ‘Sneaks’ Onto the Charlotte Roval for Winter Burnouts
The top drivers across the NASCAR national series were in Charlotte on January 18-19 for NASCAR Production Days, but one took some time to hit the track. Joey Logano of Middletown, CT headed onto the Charlotte Roval and slid around the snow-covered track.

Team Penske came into 2021 after a NASCAR Cup Series season in which two of the organization’s three drivers made the Championship 4. Unfortunately for “The Captain,” neither was able to get the job done in the final race a year ago and Penske’s championship hopes faded to black. Team Penske was hoping to resurface as a top-tier team in 2021 and achieve a better season in terms of final results. Perhaps the veteran trio of drivers could capture Roger Penske that elusive NASCAR championship. The season certainly started out with promise. However, the catastrophic end for the Penske group in the Daytona 500 foreshadowed what would ultimately turn out to be a rather difficult season. (more…)
Fast Fact: Joey Logano
Joey Logano’s lone win in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season was his 25th on the tour with Team Penske. Logano has won at least one Cup race in every year with the organization, including a career-best six victories in 2015 – a year that also saw his best stats to date in top-fives (22), top-10s (28), average finish (9.2) and laps led (1431). Joey Logano of Middletown, CT authored a page of NASCAR history in March by winning the Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Before the unique event, the veteran driver admitted that he wasn’t sure what to expect from the first Cup race held on a dirt surface since 1970.
