At 65 years old, Mike Wallace was looking at becoming the biggest Cinderella Story leading into the 2025 Daytona 500. Thompson, CT — After heat race qualifying events set the night’s feature line-ups, the Thompson Late Models took on the Big-T for the final event in their 2024 track championship season. Ryan Morgan and champion hopeful Brian Tagg lined-up alongside one another to lead the Late Models to green with defending champ Nick Johnson holding a 13 point lead over Tagg following the heats. Morgan would get the jump on the dominant outside groove with Johnson in tow as Tagg fell under attack by Derek Gluchacki and Matt Lowinski-Loh. Gluchacki powered under Morgan to take third and set his sights on Johnson at the head of the pack, dueling lap after lap with three-wide racing behind them. (more…)

THE MODERATOR: We’re joined by Mike Kelley, Crew Chief of the No. 47 Chevrolet. Congratulations on your win today, Mike. Can you tell us a little bit about the race itself?
MIKE KELLEY: Well, today for us was just all about execution. We generally don’t qualify well here. I think today — or yesterday was our best qualifying effort on a speedway with a Next Gen car. We qualified 32nd. We won’t compromise our race setup, and we generally have a pretty good race car for Ricky to be able to maneuver around.
Mike Hopkins Keeps Streak Alive At Speedway 95

HERMON, ME. – Since D.J. Shaw won the Granite State Pro Stock Series’ Maine debut in 2016, every race in the Pine Tree State had been won by a Mainer leading into Sunday afternoon’s showdown at Speedway 95.
And July winner Mike Hopkins kept that streak alive, picking up the win at his home track for a clean sweep of both visits to the Hermon, Maine, third-mile.

NASCAR Modified talent Michael Rutkoski of Mattituck turned his 2024 season around Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway leading wire-to-wire to win the 50-lap First Responders Night event. Rutkoski has endured a rough season up until the calendar flipped from July to August, it was then the 2018 Crate Modified champion felt a shift in fortune that led to his 2nd career win Saturday.
