Coming into the Newsday Salutes First Responders NASCAR Modified feature Saturday at Riverhead Raceway, Owen Grennan of Glen Cove formulated a game plan upon finding out he’d start outside of the front row. Grennan, a schoolteacher by day executed his plan to perfection winning the 50-lap main event, his second of 2025 and third of his career. Prior to racing Connie Partridge & Tom Gatz in conjunction with Newsday presented a moving salute to all 1st responders during opening ceremonies, complete with a flyover by the Suffolk County Police Department.

Owen Grennan of Glen Cove, a schoolteacher by day doesn’t return to work in the East Meadow school district for a few weeks, however Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway he taught his fellow NASCAR Modified competitors a lesson when he won the 50-lap Advance Auto Parts Night feature. After rain washed out the Championship Night for the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Series at Riverhead Raceway the event was pushed back to the third weekend in October. In the 50-lap NASCAR Modified feature Owen Grennan of Glen Cove avoided all that was going on around him to collect his first career victory. Earlier Grennan romped to his 21st career triumph in the Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modifieds.

Feature winners on the night included Todd Owen in the SK Modified® feature, Adam Gray in the Late Model feature, Tyler Chapman in the SK Light feature, RJ Surdell in the Limited Late Model feature, and Tyler Trott in the Street Stock feature. Historic Season for Todd Owen in SK Modified® Division at Stafford
(Stafford Springs, CT)—For Todd Owen and the #81 Cooker Construction team, 2023 at Stafford Speedway was a historic season that saw Owen become the first driver in the 42-year history of the SK Modified® division to win three consecutive championships. The 2023 season also saw Owen finish in the top-10 in each of the 17 races held and extended a streak of consecutive top-10 finishes to 34 consecutive races, dating back to June of 2022.

(Stafford Springs, CT)— Stafford Speedway hosted Maybury Kids Night on September 22 with Stafford’s five weekly divisions in feature action. Scoring feature wins were Todd Owen in the SK Modified® feature, Andrew Durand in the Late Model feature, Tyler Chapman in the SK Light feature, Damian Palardy in the Limited Late Model feature, and Ryan Waterman in the Street Stock feature. Todd Owen Wins 10th Annual NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k at Stafford
(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted the biggest and richest SK Modified® race of the 2023 season on Friday, August 4th with the 10th Annual NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k. Todd Owen came up the big winner of the night by taking the lead from Noah Korner on lap-75 of 80 and leading the rest of the way to take home the $5,000 winner’s check which will balloon to over $7,300 with contingency bonuses from the Gambler’s Challenge and track contingency partners added in.
Owen Grennan And Sean Glennon Top Wednesday Night Miller Lite Triple Crown Series Events At Riverhead Raceway.
The work week was broken up for Long Island race fans with a special midweek program at Riverhead Raceway Wednesday evening with eight feature event presented including a School Bus Demolition Derby. Owen Grennan of Glen Cove topped the 40-lap Eagle Auto Mall Crate Modified event for his third win of 2022, while Sean Glennon of Northport scored his third Super Pro Truck win of the season in a 30-lap tilt. Both races were the second for each class in the Miller Lite Triple Crown Series and were originally schedule for July 16th before being rained out. (more…)
