Riverhead Raceway hosted the annual Back To School Monster Truck mid week spectacular Wednesday evening complete with six Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series feature events with Max Handley of Medford topping the list of race winners when he won the 25-lap Eagle Auto Mall Crate Modified event. Entering the 2022 NASCAR Modified race season at Riverhead Raceway, Jason Agugliaro of Islip was working to put together his own race car but knew he’d get a very late start to his season. Enter car owner Joe Ambrose who had a seat available in his potent machine and Saturday night the new pairing found victory lane winning the 50-lap feature event. It was Jason’s first win since 2016, having stepped away from driving to focus on a sober lifestyle. (more…)
Despite being under the weather during the week, Dylan Slepian of Dix Hills felt just fine Saturday at Riverhead Raceway once strapped into his NASCAR Modified. He felt even better at the end of 50-laps after executing a late race outside pass of Jack Handley Jr. of Medford to score his second win of the season.

It was a night of high emotion, nostalgia and some good old school NASCAR Modified racing Saturday at Riverhead Raceway and when the dust settled on the annual Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 for the second year in a row Kyle Soper of Manorville sat in the winners circle. Soper using a perfect balance of patience and aggression took the lead with just five laps left in the contest from Timmy Solomito of Islip to pocket his 4th win of 2022, 28th of his career. (more…)

Set to return to competition at his home track, Bonsignore looks to add a fifth consecutive win at the New York oval in Whelen Modified Tour action.
MILFORD, Conn. — Doug Coby looks to break into Victory Lane for the first time at Riverhead Raceway in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour competition on Saturday, May 15. In race three of the tour season — the Miller Lite 200 — Coby looks to erase a 19-race winless streak on Long Island. The six-time Whelen Modified Tour champion does have two finishes of second and has led 332 laps at the bullring, but is yet to hoist the checkered flag. (more…)
A chance conversation started during the 2020 Islip 300 last November at Riverhead Raceway morphed into Shawn Solomito of Islip teaming up with Jimmy & Angela Rennick as the driver of their NASCAR Modified and in just their second start together Saturday night Shawn put the new combination into the winners circle at the conclusion of the 50-lap Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modified event. RICHMOND, Va. — Justin Bonsignore spent Tuesday morning and early afternoon taking laps around Richmond Raceway in Virginia behind the wheel of his No. 51 Phoenix Communications, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour ride for Kenneth Massa Motorsports. As part of a tire test, Bonsignore took laps in preparation for the Virginia Is For Racing Lovers 150, which is set for Friday, September 10. The race will mark the return to the .750-mile oval for the Whelen Modified Tour for the first time since 2002.
In the previous 64 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races contested at Riverhead Raceway there was perhaps no more a popular winner then Eric Goodale of Riverhead when he topped the late Ted Christopher for the win June 28th, 2014. Eric who grew up roughly three miles from the historic quarter mile bullring was swarmed by family and friends after his first career WMT triumph. Saturday May 15th the 35-year old Goodale will come to the Miller Lite 200 at Riverhead as the early season WMT championship leader and is hopeful to repeat the scene from June of 2014. (more…)
