Normally Gallup carries the #4ma for competition, but for the Sizzler® Gallup will change his car number to #50 and utilize the same paint scheme to honor his late father Richie.

Each lap sponsor will receive a limited edition signed Matt Hirschman 50th Spring Sizzler Champion trading card in honor of Matt’s triumph in the 50th NAPA Spring Sizzler®. The Matt Hirschman trading cards will only be available with a lap sponsorship and will be numbered 1 to 100 corresponding to the lap purchased.

The first entry comes from defending Sizzler® winner Matt Hirschman, who has entered his signature #60 modified in the 2023 edition of the Spring Sizzler, the same car he drove to victory in 2022. Hirschman will be looking to become the 9th different repeat winner of “The Greatest Race in the History of Spring.”

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway kicked off the 2022 season with “The Greatest Race in the History of Spring,” the 50th Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler with Open Modified cars. Matt Hirschman led the race twice for a total of 43 laps, including 22 of the final 23 laps as he came out on top of a late race duel between himself and Ryan Preece. (more…)

STAFFORD, Conn. – For the first time in 2022, Stan Mertz Racing unloaded at the track for the 50th running of the NAPA Spring Sizzler at Stafford Motor Speedway on April 23-24. Driving the No. 6, Matt Galko qualified into the big dance, and led laps in the first half of the 100-lap Spring Sizzler feature. After a pit stop for fresh rubber, Galko restarted outside the top-10, but worked his way back into the top-10 quickly, and continued advancing through the field before the finish.
STAFFORD, Conn. – For the first time in 2022, the Doug Coby Racing team unloaded at the track on April 23-24, competing in the 50th running of the NAPA Spring Sizzler at Stafford Motor Speedway. When the 100-lap Sizzler feature took the checkered flag, Coby wheeled the No. 10 Mayhew Tools entry to a 17th place finish. The team elected to try a tire strategy that kept fresh Hoosier rubber in the pit area until late in the race, with the plan to put them on and make a dash through the field.
