THOMPSON, Conn. – For the first time since April, Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park will roar back to life on Wednesday night for a mid-week special on June 15. Headlined by the $5,000 to win Outlaw Open Modified Series Nutmeg State 75 presented by Twisted Tea, the night includes six divisions of racing, with some of the top drivers from across the region headed back to Connecticut.

Jimmy Davis made his return to victory lane winning the first event, while Don Mattison earned the second twin win. Hunter Nutter (Limited Sportsman), Steve Miller (Rookie Sportsman), Lane Saville (500cc Mini Sprint), Chris Sumner (Mini Stock), and Chris Murray (Super Stock) also earned victories this past Saturday night. Barre, VT — Friday’s 5-division card at Thunder Road opened the weekly racing series at the Barre, Vermont oval. The racing was some of the best seen at the storied highbanks this season with razor thin finishes and the fastest speeds ever witnessed at the 63-year-old speedbowl. In the end, it was Derrick Calkins who started his quest for the Myers Container Service Triple Crown on strong footing and New England ace Jon McKennedy who stole the debut show of the New England Supermodified Series.
