Following yet another successful Coastal 200 race weekend, Wiscasset Speedway kept the excitement brewing on Saturday as they hosted a full Group 1 race program featuring the lightning fast NEMA lites.
Memorial Day weekend is home to one of the biggest Late Model racing events in New England: The Coastal 200. This year, Wiscasset Speedway decided to up the ante and make the race bigger and better than ever before, hosting an action-packed 3-day weekend which would include an infield kickoff party featuring the Motor Booty Affair, charitable car show and cornhole tournament benefiting the Special Olympics and the $15,000 to win Coastal 200 to round out the 3-day affair.

An unfavorable weather pattern threatened to dampen yet another race day at Wiscasset Speedway on Saturday, but the track powered through and successfully hosted their first Group 2 night race of the 2024 season without any delays to the main racing program. (more…)
With both Opening Days in the rearview, the 2024 season at Wiscasset Speedway is now rolling full steam ahead with many exciting events on the horizon. Saturday’s Group 1 racing action added to the anticipation, featuring some twists, turns and surprises that left fans on the edge of their seats throughout the program.
Saturday was the perfect day for racing with temperatures hovering just above 60 degrees, a light breeze and not a cloud in the sky. It was the opposite of the weather the week prior, where rain had plagued Wiscasset Speedway during their 2024 season opener. There’s one common demon that race tracks in the Northeast fought all last season: rain. Unfortunately, Mother Nature reared her ugly head once again on Saturday for Wiscasset Speedway’s Group 1 season opener.

Wiscasset Speedway hosted their Group #2 Championship Night on Saturday, which was highlighted by the Amsoil Dominator Strictly Shootout. The annual event, founded by Dave Brannon and sponsored by Lee Mortenson and Four Season Synthetic, draws in some of the best Street Stock drivers from across New England. This year’s race was no different as 45 drivers competed for 28 starting positions in the main event. (more…)
