Wet Weekend Pushes Riverhead Raceway Eddie Partridge 256 WMT Event To October 4th, Track Announces Schedule Adjustments

Forecasts for a wet weekend on Long Island became reality Saturday forcing NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour officials and Riverhead Raceway management to rest the Eddie Partridge 256 WMT program to Saturday October 4th. With the forecasted rain predicted to hit right in the middle of WMT practice and or qualifying Saturday and lasting into Sunday the decision to move the event back a month was made early Saturday morning.

Frank Dumicich Jr., Brandon Hubbard, Joe Cooke Jr. & Sal Accardi Jr. Score Riverhead WMT Prelim Wins Sunday

Prior to the Miller Lite Salutes Steve Park 200 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event won by Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville, four Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series events were contested at Riverhead Raceway Sunday afternoon. Among the highlights were second generation racer Frank Dumicich Jr. of East Quogue collecting a milestone 15th career victory in the 20-lap Super Pro Truck feature.

Stage Is Set For Miller Lite Salutes Steve Park WMT 200 At Riverhead Raceway Saturday

One of the more popular drivers to compete at Riverhead Raceway before his driving career advanced to the top three NASCAR national touring series, Steve Park will be celebrated with the running of the Miller Lite Salutes Steve Park 200 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Park, an East Northport native will be on hand to greet his legion of fans at the track including being part of the scheduled WMT autograph session, giving the command to fire engines and more.

Justin Bonsignore & Ron Silk Bring 2024 WMT Championship Fight To Riverhead Raceway Eddie Partridge 256

There is nothing like a good old-fashioned NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour tussle on a quarter mile bullring with huge championship implications hanging in the balance. That is the scenario awaiting Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville and Ron Silk of Norwalk heading to Riverhead Raceway for the Eddie Partridge 256 Saturday September 14th. For the two most recent WMT champions Saturday’s race will be Déjà vu all over again after they waged a titanic battle during last year’s 256 prior to Justin Bonsignore taking the victory.

Tom Rogers Jr. & Steve Mendoza Joining Forces For Riverhead Raceway WMT Miller Lite Salutes Wayne Anderson 200

NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour car owner Steve Mendoza, and five-time Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Tour Type Modified champion Tom Rogers Jr. of Riverhead announced Tuesday morning they are joining forces for the Miller Lite Salutes Wayne Anderson 200 WMT event Saturday May 18th. The event celebrates the 30th anniversary of Wayne Anderson’s 1994 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship.

Justin Bonsignore Scores Ninth Riverhead Raceway WMT Win In Eddie Partridge 256 Saturday

Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville took the lead with 25-laps remaining in the Eddie Partridge 256 Saturday night and drove off his his ninth career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victory. The win is the second in as many WMT races in the month of September for Bonsignore who won the September 3rd event at the Oswego Speedway and the late season hot streak has entrenched Justin into the tussle for the 2022 WMT drivers championship. When looking ahead to the Miller Lite 200 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event Saturday May 14th at Riverhead Raceway it will be hard not to pick a tested tough WMT veteran for the win. However the quarter mile bullring has provided some surprise winners and results along the way in the previous 67 races and fans might even have to look past the 2022 WMT roster for a potential winner. Goodale & Catalano Bring Early Season WMT Championship Tussle To Riverhead Raceway

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour resumes action at a familiar venue resuming after a five week hiatus returning to action for the Miller Lite 200 Saturday night May 14th at Riverhead Raceway. Two Empire state drivers that live at opposite ends of the state, Eric Goodale of Riverhead and Tommy Catalano of Ontario, NY will come to the Miller Lite 200 tied for the early season WMT championship lead.
