Harrison Burton returns to Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) for his second full season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2021 behind the wheel of the DEX Imaging Toyota Supra. Coming off an impressive rookie season which saw Burton capture Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors and finish eighth in the championship driver standings, Burton will look to capture JGR’s third Xfinity Series Driver’s Championship under the leadership of veteran crew chief Jason Ratcliff this season.
- Impressive Rookie Season: On his to way to Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors last season, Burton captured four wins, 15 top five and 22 top-10 finishes in 33 starts. Burton also set the NASCAR Xfinity Series Sunoco Rookie record in 2020 for the most consecutive top-10 finishes to start a season with 10 consecutive top 10s; the previous record of nine was held by Carl Edwards during the 2005 season.
- New Crew Chief: Veteran Crew Chief Jason Ratcliff will lead Burton and the DEX Imaging team this season. No stranger to success in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Ratcliff has an impressive resume including 54 wins, 153 top five, and 237 top-10 finishes in 450 career NASCAR Xfinity Series races. Ratcliff won the 2009 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship with current JGR driver Kyle Busch.
- BURTON AT DAYTONA: In two NASCAR Xfinity Series Starts at Daytona, Burton has two top-five finishes on his resume. In his last outing on the high banks at Daytona last August, Burton started 11th and finished fifth in his DEX Imaging Supra.
- JGR AT DAYTONA: JGR has 100 total starts at Daytona International Speedway in the NXS, earning four wins, 26 top-five finishes, 41 top-10 finishes and nine pole starting positions. The team has led 641 laps, completed 10,148 of 11,244 attempted laps (90.3%) and earned an average start of 10.4 and an average finish of 16.6. Tony Stewart (2008), Denny Hamlin (2008), Joey Logano (2011) and Matt Kenseth (2013) each have one win for JGR in the series.
