Collection Paul-Emile B @Kevin Van Campenhout
Artcurial Motorcars makes a strong comeback for the 49th edition of the Salon Rétromobile, a must-attend event for classic car enthusiasts, with three auctions taking place on 7, 8, and 9 February 2025.
On Friday, 7 February, the Official Auction will feature 120 Classic Cars. On Saturday, 8 February, Artcurial Motorcars is delighted to announce the sale of the ‘Paul-Émile B Collection, “locomotion in action,”‘ a remarkable ensemble including exceptional cars, motorcycles, an aircraft, and a wide array of Automobilia lots gathered throughout the life of this discerning collector.
A Unique Collection, A Singular Philosophy
Under the evocative theme of “locomotion in action,” this collection embodies the spirit of an extraordinary collector. Paul-Émile B, whose motto is: “If I don’t use a car, I don’t keep it,” has spent decades behind the wheel of vehicles as rare as they are iconic.
Having owned 400 classic cars in his lifetime, he has brought these exceptional machines to life, frequently participating in legendary events such as the Mille Miglia, Le Mans Classic, and the Peking to Paris rally. He even completed a world tour behind the wheel of one of the cars in the auction, a 1942 Pontiac.
“This collection reflects its owner’s extensive automotive knowledge, his unwavering passion for racing, and his love for rare objects. He embraced locomotion as a true means of exploring the world, participating in hundreds of races and other epic adventures. This is the collection of a true connoisseur, a passionate enthusiast, and a man of great taste.”

Among the Highlights of the Collection:

- A 1934 Bugatti Type 51, formerly owned by Ralph Lauren, boasting an impressive period racing history. As an evolution of the renowned Type 35, it is the most iconic sports model from the Molsheim marque. Estimate: €1,700,000 – €2,100,000
- A 1936 Delage D6-70 Spéciale Compétition, coachbuilt by Figoni & Falaschi, which competed extensively in its era, including twice at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1936 and 1937. Estimate: €1,200,000 – €1,500,000
