The lap money for the lap leaders during the Freedom 76 continues to grow as many fans and area businesses continue to sponsor laps for the historical race, with many laps now being sponsored twice. LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports coverage of the 17-race 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season scored in a big way, averaging 1,362,000 viewers according to Nielsen Media Research, a +27% year-to-year increase from 2024 and the most-watched season in 17 years. In 2025, the NTT INDYCAR Series has recorded the most audience growth to date of any sport averaging at least a million viewers.

Lou Modestino Track Talk: Here’s How Northeast Drivers Performed At Darlington And Portland

Northeastern senior correspondent Lou Modestino checks in with his latest Track Talk:

Chase Briscoe won the Cup race at Darlington, SC. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT finished 16th, and Joey Logano of Middletown, CT ended his day in 20th position.

The Xfinity race in Portland, OR saw Conner Zillich go to Victory Lane. Thomas Annunziata of NJ finished 28^th while Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT ended his day in 33rd.

The Craftsman Trucks also raced at Darlington, SC. Correy Heim won that one, with Corey LaJoie placing 20th. Corey LaJoie is the son of Two -Time Xfinity Champion Randy Lajoie who grew up in Norwalk, CT before he moved to Charlotte, NC to be closer to all of the NASCAR Teams. Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA ended up 22nd.

The Indy Cars were in action at Nashville, TN, and Josef Newgarden won that one. Santino Ferrucci of Ridgefield, CT came in eighth.

Will Power To Depart Team Penske For The 2026 Season

MOORESVILLE, NC (September 2, 2025) – Team Penske announced today that after 17 years driving for the legendary organization, Will Power will depart the team prior to the 2026 season. Will Power is one of INDYCAR’s most decorated drivers with 45 wins, two INDYCAR Championships (2014 and 2022) and one Indianapolis 500 victory. Power collected 42 of his INDYCAR victories during his time with Team Penske, in addition to 71 pole positions that have distinguished him as the greatest qualifier in series history.

Goodyear Racing Notes – World Wide Technology Raceway

The Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setup that awaits NASCAR Cup Series teams at World Wide Technology Raceway (WWTR) this weekend is new to the Illinois track but already familiar to teams, having debuted at Iowa Speedway a month ago.

These new left and right side tires were initially developed with Iowa’s fast cornering speeds in mind and are also the product of a June tire test at WWTR, where drivers Erik Jones, Brad Keselowski, and Kyle Larson tested them.

Stewart, Prock, Glenn, And Herrera Are Crowned NHRA Regular Season Champions

Tony Stewart, Austin Prock, Dallas Glenn, and Gaige Herrera picked up an added bonus during the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals as they were each awarded regular season championships.
