Going into this race, we all knew the JGR teams were going to be tough to beat, but I don’t think anyone thought they would go 1-2-3-4 at the finish. Nor did anyone think that two of the drivers would set the pace leading 311 of the 400 laps. If you are a Toyota fan, this was your race.
A familiar refrain was heard this weekend at Las Vegas from the playoff drivers – “Stay out of my lane!”
I was at the track the first time Kevin Harvick won at The Brickyard and his monster burnout down the front stretch was spectacular. 16 years later, Harvick gains his 2nd Brickyard win and his third win of the season heading into the playoffs. (more…)

Both Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch experienced some on-track frustration of their own making this past weekend at Watkins Glen.
NASCAR changed the rules of the game – again – but this time for the better. One of the stupidest rules to govern pit stops has been the “arm’s length” rule. A tire coming off during a pit stop had to stay within an “arm’s length” of a crewman, generally a tire changer, or there would be a pass through penalty. (more…)

Over the years, Kentucky didn’t always produce the best racing but that has changed. Don’t get me wrong, the track can still produce some boring racing. Case in point, the enormous lead Kyle Busch had over the field earlier in this race. But the end of this race gave those in attendance something to cheer about. (more…)
Martin Truex, Jr. defended his 2018 win at Sonoma with another dominating performance. He led nearly two-thirds of the laps and beat second place Kyle Busch by about a second. (more…)
Joey Logano became the first driver to win from the pole this season on his way to his second victory and supplanting Kyle Busch as the points leader. On his way to Victory Lane, Logano won Stage 1, led 163 of 203 laps and held off the field during a wild final restart with just a few laps to go. How Kyle Busch of him. (more…)
