It didn’t look like Joey Logano was going to win the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas but he got all the luck there was and brought home the checkers.
The start of the race saw the Toyotas of Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Christopher Bell go to the back for unapproved changes to the nose of the car that were found in inspection. Qualifying was washed out by rain so the field was set by owner’s points. (more…)
First of all, let’s get right to what really matters and thank God (or whatever higher power you believe in) that Ryan Newman survived what looked to be one of the worst wrecks in recent NASCAR history. There have been some pretty awful wrecks in automotive racing in various forms, NASCAR, IRL, F1, and other but this one had all the earmarks of a very serious accident, reminding many of the terrible crash that killed Dale Earnhardt. This weekend was the start of the NASCAR racing season with the ARCA race that saw Michael Self towing the remaining cars across the finish line, with Hailie Deegan staying in line to record her first ever runner up position at Daytona. She tied Shawna Robinson and Erin Crocker for the best finish by a woman in ARCA history. (more…)

It was only fitting that the four title contenders all started in the top 4 spots this past weekend. All four drivers had a shot to win and they all led laps. But it was the mistake free team that won the race and gave Kyle Busch the title. (more…)
Denny Hamlin had a fast car this weekend, started third, won Stage 1 and led 143 laps in his battle with Joey Logano and Kyle Busch to fill the final position at the championship race at Homestead. (more…)
Kevin Harvick came into Texas knowing that it is one of his best tracks and he needed to show everyone that he still knew how to win a race. While he didn’t win any stages, he won the race and led a race high 119 laps, most of those in the final stage. Harvick started on the pole but was penalized after a tire infraction on pit road that sent him to the back. (more…)
Martin Truex, Jr. led 464 of the 500 laps at Martinsville to cement his position in the final race of the season.
Denny Hamlin led a dominating 153 laps to win and advance to the next round of the playoffs. Although 10 drivers officially led laps, Kyle Larson was next in line with 60 and Martin Truex, Jr. led 33. After that, no single driver led more than 7 laps. (more…)
