Thunder Road Postpones Governor’s Cup in Wake of Torrential Flooding Across Vermont

Barre, VT — Due to the severity of the flooding to our community, local businesses, racers and fans, Officials have postponed the 44th running of the Vermont Governor’s Cup by the Vermont Lottery originally scheduled for Thursday, July 13th. With well over 100 roads washed out across the area, along with flooding in homes, businesses and Thunder Road’s own office building in downtown Barre, Officials postponed the event to allow people the necessary time to assess their situations and plan accordingly. Matt Swanson Wins Second Consecutive Nor-Easter 75 At Wiscasset Speedway

Cloudy skies and a thick fog crept over Coastal Maine on Saturday night, but this didn’t stop Wiscasset Speedway from hosting their weekly Group #2 racing program. The night’s events included the Portland Glass Strictly Streets, Kennebec Equipment Rental Outlaw Minis, T&L Automotive Modifieds, Wood Pellet Warehouse Late Models and the visiting Milton CAT Modified Racing Series.

Nearly 16 years to the day, JR Bertuccio of Centereach returned to NASCAR Modified victory lane Saturday when he led wire to wire in a non-stop 50-lap feature at Riverhead Raceway. Rising driving talent Chase Grennan of Glen Cove scored a clean sweep in the Eagle Chevrolet 100 for the Crate Modifieds for his third win of 2023 after setting fast time in qualifying.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Open Modified cars returned to Stafford Motor Speedway for their fourth of five visits of the 2023 season on Friday, June 7th for the GAF Roofing Open 80.  Woody Pitkat started up front and ran among the top-2 or top-3 cars all night long but he had to hold off a strong challenge over the final 10 laps of the race from George Bessette, Jr. in order to take the checkered flag.
