NASCAR Cup Series star Ryan Preece, of Berlin, Conn., driver of the RKF Racing No. 60, will join the night’s festivities to sign autographs and serve as honorary starter for the 75-lap Modified Series feature. Chemung, N.Y. – (July 28, 2025) – The Race of Champions Modified Series will continue one of the Southern Tier’s most treasured traditions with the running of “The Night Before The Glen – Rod Spalding Classic” at Chemung Speedrome on Saturday, August 9.

The event honors Rod Spalding, a respected Modified driver who received the Sportsmanship of the Year award at Shangri-La Speedway in Tioga, N.Y., before suffering serious injuries at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, N.C. His legacy lives on through the work of the Spalding Foundation for Injured Drivers, which continues to support racers throughout the region.

Williamson, N.Y. – (June 7, 2025) – Andrew Lewis, Jr., of Ontario, N.Y., etched his name into the record books Friday night at Spencer Speedway, earning his first-ever Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series victory during the track’s 70th annual season opener.

Lewis grabbed the lead at the drop of the green in the 35-lap feature and never relinquished it, holding off a hard-charging field to seal an emotional win at his home track.
