Entering their eighth season as owners and promoters of Riverhead Raceway, Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz announced the 2023 schedule of events at the annual championship awards ceremony in early January. The new schedule is once again packed full of NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series racing as well popular and entertaining family fun programs.
After a two year pause Riverhead Raceway was able to celebrate their 2022 NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series champions in style once again Friday evening at Giorgio’s Baiting Hollow with 350 revelers filling the banquet room. Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz hosted the gala event with track GM John Ellwood while Stephen Halpin served as master of ceremonies.

Driving the No. 7NY, Jimmy “Showtime” Blewett celebrated with the team post-race, after coming close to Victory Lane in the 200-lap race – contending for the lead in the final laps before being swept up in a wreck.
MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Doug Coby was running comfortably inside the top-10 when a mechanical failure suddenly forced him to pull into the garage early on Thursday at Martinsville Speedway. Competing in the season-finale for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, Coby wheeled the Mayhew Tools No. 10 and ran around the top-10 for the beginning stages of the race.
Corey LaJoie, who runs full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Spire Motorsports, will leave Martinsville Speedway with a grandfather clock, after capturing his first career victory in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour on Thursday.
The Riverhead Raceway management team has been busy since the regular season ended the final weekend of September preparing for the 6th annual Islip 300 Saturday November 12th. In just five years the Islip 300 quickly has become a signature Tour Type Modified event paying the winner $7,000 from a total purse of $32,650. JB Fortin of Holtsville the 2021 Islip 300 victor announced this week he’ll defend his race win.
LOUDON, N.H. – The New England fan-favorite NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) has been added to the lineup for New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s (NHMS) 2023 NASCAR weekend, July 15-16. The modifieds will join the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) on Doubleheader Saturday, July 15 with a 100-lap race. The NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) will cap off the weekend with the Crayon 301 on Sunday, July 16.
