ATTLEBORO, Mass. — Two-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour winner Patrick Emerling will lead a stout field of challengers to the next event on the tour schedule, next Saturday, June 12, at Oswego Speedway. In the Steel Palace 150, Emerling will look to maintain a scant one-point advantage in the championship standings over two-time and defending champion Justin Bonsignore.
MILFORD, Conn. — Doug Coby Racing announced on Monday that Chase Dowling will drive the No. 10 Mayhew Tools entry in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Oswego Speedway on Saturday, June 12. JENNERSTOWN, Pa. — Justin Bonsignore and Doug Coby are no strangers to running at the front of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour field. The two of them have combined to win eight of the last nine championships on NASCAR’s oldest touring series — and on Saturday night — they fought hard in the final two laps to decide the winner of the Jennerstown Salutes 150 presented by DGV on Memorial Day weekend.

In the Jennerstown Salutes 150 presented by DGV, honoring veterans who were lost in war, Bonsignore will carry the name of Air Force Staff Sergeant David A. It certainly didn’t come easy for former three-time Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modified champion John Fortin Sr. of Holtsville Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway but when all was said and done at the conclusion of 50-laps the 57-year-old elder statesman of the division earned his 35th career victory. Afterwards in victory lane Fortin briefly hinted the victory might also be his very last race noting “I want to go out on top, I have to really think about it I’d like to see a young kid in this car” (more…)
