RICHMOND, Va. — Justin Bonsignore spent Tuesday morning and early afternoon taking laps around Richmond Raceway in Virginia behind the wheel of his No. 51 Phoenix Communications, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour ride for Kenneth Massa Motorsports. As part of a tire test, Bonsignore took laps in preparation for the Virginia Is For Racing Lovers 150, which is set for Friday, September 10. The race will mark the return to the .750-mile oval for the Whelen Modified Tour for the first time since 2002.
In the previous 64 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races contested at Riverhead Raceway there was perhaps no more a popular winner then Eric Goodale of Riverhead when he topped the late Ted Christopher for the win June 28th, 2014. Eric who grew up roughly three miles from the historic quarter mile bullring was swarmed by family and friends after his first career WMT triumph. Saturday May 15th the 35-year old Goodale will come to the Miller Lite 200 at Riverhead as the early season WMT championship leader and is hopeful to repeat the scene from June of 2014. (more…)

Acton, MA (May 4, 2021): On Friday night, April 30, Matt Swanson of Acton, MA, earned his first career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour pole award during qualifying for the prestigious Spring Sizzler. Swanson, driver of the famed Ole Blue for Mike Boehler Racing Enterprises of E. Freetown, MA, turned a lap of 18.008 seconds, nearly eclipsing an average speed of 100 (99.956) mph, to earn the Mayhew Tools Dominator Pole Award. (more…)

STAFFORD, Conn. — Justin Bonsignore finished 13th in the rain-shortened NAPA Spring Sizzler at Stafford Motor Speedway on Friday, April 30. The race was deemed official after just 130 of the 150 lap distance due to persistent rain in the area. It was the second of 14 races on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour calendar and first of three at the Connecticut oval in 2021. (more…)

Defending NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville will return to where it all began for him when the tour makes its first of three visits to Riverhead Raceway Saturday May 15th and with him bring a four race WMT win streak into the Miller Lite 200. The third week of May date is the earliest the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour has ever visited the eastern Long Island facility since it’s inception in 1985. In race two of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, Coby will return to his home track on April 25 to drive the Mayhew Tools No. 10, coming off a sixth-place finish in the Whelen Modified Tour opener at Martinsville Speedway.
