NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Kaden HoneycuttCRAFTSMAN Truck Series rookie Kaden Honeycutt goes into his first Playoff appearance in rather unusual circumstances. The talented 22-year-old drove a truck for Niece Motorsports the first 16 weeks of the season and is now steering the No. 52 Halmar Friesen Racing Toyota for the Playoffs.

Honeycutt addressed the change in teams Tuesday and said he was optimistic going forward, driving the truck for the injured owner-driver Stewart Friesen.

Denny Hamlin won the Cup race.  Joey Logano of Middletown, CT came in 13th.  Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT finished in 26th place.

Brandon Jones won the Xfinity race.  Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT came in 31st.

Not as lucky was Kris Wright who was at the wheel of Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our entry.  The father and daughter both reside in Chatham, MA.

DARLINGTON, S.C. – If Denny Hamlin’s win a week ago at Martinsville, Va. was a competitive relief, his victory Sunday at Darlington, S.C. was championship swagger.

A week ago he ended a 31-race winless streak to take a convincing win at the Martinsville half-miler. And on Sunday, the veteran came through in the closing laps of the Goodyear 400 at Darlington, a track he was already the winningest active driver (five) and marked the first time since 2012 that Hamlin had won back-to-back races.
