Las Vegas, Nevada (November 16, 2023) – Race week in Las Vegas kicked off with four Formula 1 drivers piloting out-of-this-world vehicles in a series of three challenges in the Nevada desert.
After more than a year of anticipation and hype, the inaugural Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix has finally arrived. Last week I noted that if you led 100 or more laps at Las Vegas, you had a pretty good shot at winning the race. Well Kyle Larson did just that, and more. He won both stages and led the most laps with 133 and the final 45. But it almost did not come to pass.
LAS VEGAS – Kyle Larson earned this trophy the old-fashioned way. The No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet driver led the most laps and swept both stage wins but still had to hold off a hard-charging, equally motivated Christopher Bell at the start/finish line to claim a dramatic victory in Sunday’s South Point 400 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs Round of 8 opener at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 12, 2023 – The 2023 NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series Playoffs Round of 8 will begin at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend on NBC, featuring the first chance for a driver to secure a spot in the Championship 4.
The NASCAR Cup Series race in Las Vegas will be presented Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. All four remaining Cup Series Playoff races will air on the NBC broadcast network. (more…)
After Kaulig Racing’s A.J. Allmendinger played spoiler in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs’ Round of 12 elimination race at the Charlotte ROVAL stealing the win from the Playoff contenders, four more drivers have been eliminated from the postseason – Brad Keselowski, Ross Chastain, Bubba Wallace and Kyle Busch.
It appears there is a new road course ringer in the NASCAR Xfinity Series – JR Motorsports’ Sam Mayer. The 20-year-old driver, Mayer, had a dominate performance on the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course, leading 50 of the 67 laps and snagging the win by .909 seconds over runner-up Cole Custer.
