Entering the 2022 NASCAR Modified race season at Riverhead Raceway, Jason Agugliaro of Islip was working to put together his own race car but knew he’d get a very late start to his season. Enter car owner Joe Ambrose who had a seat available in his potent machine and Saturday night the new pairing found victory lane winning the 50-lap feature event. Despite being under the weather during the week, Dylan Slepian of Dix Hills felt just fine Saturday at Riverhead Raceway once strapped into his NASCAR Modified. He felt even better at the end of 50-laps after executing a late race outside pass of Jack Handley Jr. of Medford to score his second win of the season.
Saturday August 13th the tradition of celebrating our great United States of America continues at Riverhead Raceway with Connie Partridge & Tom Gatz presenting I Love America Night. A good ole county fair atmosphere will fill the air with a huge Fireworks spectacular, 4/6-Cylinder Demolition Derby and a Kids Big Wheel Race complementing the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series stock car action. The work week was broken up for Long Island race fans with a special midweek program at Riverhead Raceway Wednesday evening with eight feature event presented including a School Bus Demolition Derby. Owen Grennan of Glen Cove topped the 40-lap Eagle Auto Mall Crate Modified event for his third win of 2022, while Sean Glennon of Northport scored his third Super Pro Truck win of the season in a 30-lap tilt. Both races were the second for each class in the Miller Lite Triple Crown Series and were originally schedule for July 16th before being rained out. (more…)
It was a night of high emotion, nostalgia and some good old school NASCAR Modified racing Saturday at Riverhead Raceway and when the dust settled on the annual Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 for the second year in a row Kyle Soper of Manorville sat in the winners circle. Soper using a perfect balance of patience and aggression took the lead with just five laps left in the contest from Timmy Solomito of Islip to pocket his 4th win of 2022, 28th of his career. (more…)
After a two week, mid-season vacation the NASCAR Modifieds of the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series return to Riverhead Raceway in a big way Saturday July 30th competing in the annual Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77. The race will serve as the second leg of the Crown Jewel Series for the Ted Christopher Cup. The Class of ’22 will be inducted onto the Cromarty Wall of Champions with Rusty Turbush of Manorville and John Cozza of Medford the two inductees. (more…)
A large crowd filed through the gates for the Monster Truck Night of Destruction Saturday at Riverhead Raceway with Vinny Delaney of Islip Terrace scoring the victory in the Eagle Auto Mall Crate Modified feature event, his first of 2022. Also scoring big wains Saturday were Gerard Giordano of Freeport who won his first career Late Model event in a 50-lap contest and Jason Castaldo of Shirley who prevailed in the 30-lap INEX Legend Race Car event for his third win of 2022.
Despite the predictions by the high-priced New York City and local weather forecasters calling for a 0% chance of rain on Long Island Saturday, a potent storm rolled in over Riverhead Raceway just 30 minutes after the garage area opened at 2:00 pm.
Another family fun night of thrills and spills is slated for Riverhead Raceway Saturday July 23rd as the annual Monster Truck Night of Destruction joins a full program of NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series stock car racing. The Late Models will compete in their second Miller LIte Triple Crown Series race of 2022, while the INEX Legend Race Cars return after a week of for their second MLTCS event. (more…)
It had been since July 14th, 2007 since JR Bertuccio of Centereach had visited victory lane at Riverhead Raceway after a NASCAR Modified event but that all changed Saturday when the former champion returned to the hallowed ground after the 50-lap feature event. (more…)
