2021 Champions, Top Runners Honored at Thunder Road Banquet
Barre, VT — As part of last weekend’s 63rd Season Opener and Community Bank 150, Thunder Road and the American-Canadian Tour celebrated their 2021 champions, top runners and rookies as well as the various annual special awards presented by the ACT sanctioning body. Barre, VT — With 117 cars on hand for the 63rd Season Opener at Thunder Road International Speedbowl, 17 qualifying races were needed before the four feature races took the green creating some of the best stock car racing in the United States at the ‘Nation’s Site of Excitement.’ When all the dust settled Sunday afternoon, a first time winner stood amongst hardened veterans and the ‘King of Barre’ remained on his throne.

Barre, VT — The biggest event of the summer for the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models has received a new title sponsor for the next three years. After a nine-year hiatus, the Vermont Department of Liquor and Lottery returns to present the 43rd Vermont Governor’s Cup 150 on Thursday, July 14. One of the most iconic races in the state of Vermont, the Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup annually serves as the opening event in the New England NASCAR weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Rookies at The Road – 2022 Edition
Barre, VT — Thunder Road International Speedbowl is ready for yet another strong roster of Rookies at The Road, ready to do battle in all divisions in 2022. As of publishing, the rk Miles Street Stock division is once again at the forefront with six rookies as of late, the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers are in close second with five registered rookies and the Maplewood Convenience/Irving Oil Late Models in third with at least two committed rookies for the upcoming season.
