All You Need To Know For This Weekend’s IMSA Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International is the first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race since the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in March to feature all four classes – Grand Touring Prototype (GTP), Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2), Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO), and Grand Touring Daytona (GTD). It’s also the third of five rounds in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, producing a bumper field of 54 cars.

For GTP, Watkins Glen is already the sixth of nine races, signaling the start of the final stretch of the title fight. LMP2 has run only two of seven events so far this year, so its championship is just getting underway. For GTD PRO and GTD, the Sahlen’s Six Hours marks the halfway point of the season.

Known as America’s National Park of Speed, the mammoth 4.048-mile, 14-turn road course has long served as a showcase for some of the world’s most well-known drivers and most memorable moments. TeamSLR looks to add another chapter to that rich history as it arrives for the Cheese Capital Cup celebration riding the momentum of a 1-2 finish last Sunday on the hallowed grounds of Indianapolis Motor Speedway at the hands of race-winner Helio Meza and runner-up Alon Day.

Registration for Competitors is open on MotorsportsReg. Please submit your entry, and we’ll review it promptly. Lyn St. James Shared the Limelight with Paul Newman at Lime Rock

Lyn St. James recorded many milestones in a career that spanned four decades, including seven starts in the Indianapolis 500 and class victories in both the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. She also remains one of the sport’s most visible advocates for women in motorsports.

At Lime Rock Park, St. James famously shared the spotlight with actor and racer Paul Newman during the 1989 SCCA Trans Am race when the two became tangled in an opening lap incident that left one car perched on top of the other.

Lime Rock Park Debuts Intro to Racing for 2026 Season

LAKEVILLE, Conn. (25 February 2026)- At Lime Rock Park, the sound of engines has defined summer weekends for nearly seven decades. Now, the historic 1.5-mile road course is introducing a new way for first-time drivers to move from Spectator Hill to being on the track themselves.

Lime Rock Park is thrilled to announce the launch of its Intro to Racing program, a structured entry point onto the main circuit designed specifically for novices and first-time track drivers. Participants use their own street cars and progress through a supervised curriculum that combines classroom instruction and on-track experience.
