AO Racing and Rexy Reign at Grand Prix of Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 12, 2025) – AO Racing continued its winning streak in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on Saturday, claiming victory in the 100-minute Grand Prix of Long Beach. The team behind the Porsche 911 GT3 “Rawr” executed a flawless pit strategy and kept the car clean, leaping ahead of the competition in pit lane to take the win.

“Rexy loves Long Beach,” said Team Principal Gunnar Jeannette. “I can’t say much more than that. It’s been a fantastic weekend. Both Laurens and Jonny did an amazing job as ‘fill-ins’ for our usual drivers, and I hope we get the chance to put them back in Rexy and keep their win streak alive.” (more…)

The 38th Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA) Induction Celebration presented by Toyota Gazoo Racing, which will formally usher the Class of 2026 into the MSHFA, will be held in the Hall’s home in Daytona Beach, Florida, March 9 – 10, 2026.

IMSA Insider – In And Out: Will Short Stop Strategically Pay Off Again in Long Beach?

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship has a long, memorable history of racing in the streets, ranging from Miami to Del Mar, San Antonio to Detroit, Nova Scotia to Australia. Bicentennial Park’s streets played host to a two-time Formula 1 World Champion coming out of retirement to race in 1983 in IMSA’s Grand Prix of Miami, setting the stage for a glorious second act to his legendary career. You may have heard of him: Emerson Fittipaldi. And it was Scotland’s Allan McNish (driving with a strained back he injured whilst stepping out of kilt during a pre-race photo shoot) who teamed with Rinaldo “Dindo” Capello and Brad Jones to win IMSA’s first and only race Down Under on the streets of Adelaide.

The six-hour endurance race, taking place on Saturday 12 April, marks the team’s first competitive outing with the highly anticipated GT3 machine, following an intensive preseason testing program across Europe, including circuits in Spain, France, Germany, and the UK.

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Set For June 4-7, 2025

Commissioned by Thomas Jefferson to explore the Great Plains, Lt. Zebulon Pike first saw Pikes Peak from the eastern portion of today’s Colorado in 1806. As he approached the magnificent peak, rising abruptly from the plains, Pike swore this mountain would never be climbed by man.

By the mid-20^th century Pikes Peak had been conquered by tourists from all over the world – by car, motorcycle, bicycle, train, mule, horse, and on foot. The spectacular view from the summit inspired Katherine Lee Bates to compose the famous lyrics to America the Beautiful in 1893. (more…)
