Additional Report On New-England Drivers at Daytona 2025
Corey Heim got the NASCAR Truck win at Daytona when Parker Kligerman of Westport, CT was DQ’d and moved to last place.  But it was good news for Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA who  ended up in second place on Friday night!
Jesse Love won the Xfinity race on Saturday with Patrick Emerling of Long Island, NY coming in tenth.  Leland Honeyman finished in 21st then it was Anthony Alfredo in 22nd from Ridgewood, CT.  Justin Bonsignore of Long Island, NY finished 25th. Honeyman drives an entry for Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our who reside in Chatham, MA.
William Byron won the rain-delayed Daytona 500 for the second time.  Corey LaJoie ended his day in 22nd while Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT. got 32nd place and Joey Logano of Middletown, CT ended up 35th.

William Byron won the 2025 Daytona 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway. The win is his 2nd consecutive Daytona 500 win, 3rd win at Daytona and 14th of his career.

#45-Tyler Reddick finished 2nd followed by #84-Jimmie Johnson, pole sitter #19-Chase Briscoe, #42-John Hunter Nemechek, #48-Alex Bowman, #12-Ryan Blaney, #2-Austin Cindric, #40-Justin Allgaier, and #17-Chris Buescher.

BREAKING:  NASCAR Moves Up Start of DAYTONA 500

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 14, 2025) – Due to potential weather forecasted for the Daytona Beach area late Sunday, NASCAR today announced the DAYTONA 500 will move up one hour from its originally scheduled time to now begin at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Gates and hospitality will now open at 9 a.m. ET, and the Hard Rock Bet Fanzone will open at 8:30 a.m. ET. Parking lots will open at 6 a.m. ET.

Here’s How New England Connected Drivers Fared at the Big D’s Twin Qualifiers
Bubba Wallace managed to get a win in the first 500 Qualifier, and Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT came in 13th.
In the second go-around Austin Cindric made his way to Victory Lane with defending Cup Champion Joey Logano of Middletown, CT taking fifth place.  Corey LaJoie finished sixth then it was Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT earning the 13th spot.
Note that Corey LaJoie is the son of Two-Time Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie who grew up in Norwalk, CT before moving South to the Charlotte, NC area in order to be closer to the top NASCAR action.
