Fan Voting for the 2025 DAYTONA 500 Trioval Grass Design Kicks Off Today

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 30, 2024) – Starting today, the voting period for the Trioval Grass Design for the 2025 DAYTONA 500 has begun. This serves as the tenth consecutive year fans can cast their vote for their favorite Trioval Grass Design to be displayed during the 67th running of The Great American Race on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025.

Voting is open now through Friday, Nov. 8. Fans can click here to submit their vote for one of the three creative designs and are encouraged to share their choice via Facebook and X (Twitter). The unveiling of the winning design will take place in January 2025.

NASCAR Linked With Possible Race In Saudi Arabia Toward End Of Decade

NASCAR was listed Monday as being in talks to bring a race to the planned Qiddiya mega resort in Saudi Arabia toward the end of this decade, but it’s not yet commenting on the potential. The Middle Eastern kingdom is spending tens of billions of dollars to construct the sports and entertainment hub 40 miles southwest of Riyadh, and it is said to have an agreement in place with F1 to eventually shift the race currently held in Jeddah to the Qiddiya Speed Park Track when it opens closer to 2030, potentially as soon as 2028.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 29, 2024) – Team Penske, Shell USA and The Joey Logano Foundation (JLF) announced today a collective program to support ongoing recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene that ravaged parts of five states in late September. This collaboration includes a special livery on the No. 22 Team Penske Ford Mustang that Logano, the 2018 Martinsville Speedway fall race winner, will pilot at the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) race at the Virginia half-mile oval on Sunday, November 3.

Hettinger Racing Purchases Bret Holmes Racing

Team Owner Chris Hettinger To Field No. 4 Chevrolet Silverado for Driver Brett Moffitt in Final Two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Races of 2024

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 29, 2024) – Chris Hettinger, a longtime and winning Late Model team owner from Dryden, Michigan, has purchased the assets of Bret Holmes Racing. The organization will complete the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule with 2018 Truck Series champion Brett Moffitt under its new name, Hettinger Racing.

Hettinger is a second-generation racer whose father, Jim, raced open-wheel Midgets and Sprint Cars and won two championships in 1984 and 1990, accolades that earned him a spot in the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame. Chris began his racing career behind the wheel, winning in Midgets and Late Models before becoming a fulltime team owner.

Tyler Reddick won the Cup race with Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT coming in tenth with Joey Logano of Middletown, CT finishing 28th and Kaz Gala of Boston turning up 32nd while Corey LaJoie being awarded 35th.  Corey LaJoie is the son of Two Time Xfinity Champ Randy LaJoie who spent his younger years in his home town of Norwalk, CT, near the northern NASCAR action before heading South to be closer to the top NASCAR racing.
Austin Hill won the Xfinity race while Parker Kligerman of Westport, CT took 11th place with Kyle Weatherman caming  in 14th followed by Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT grabbed 15th and Blair Perkins came in 34th.  Weatherman, Alfredo and Perkins all drive team cars for Cape Cod’s Chris Our and his daughter Mary. Both reside in Chatham, MA.

Kevin Harvick overcame a “deathly” illness to compete in the CARS Tour Super Late Model race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. As he reflected on the experience during his podcast, Harvick admitted to the severe illness he and his team endured leading up to the race weekend. Despite battling intense nausea and discomfort, Harvick secured a remarkable fourth-place finish.

The CARS Tour West event was Harvick’s debut in this series, held at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Harvick, who retired from full-time NASCAR Cup Series racing, is enjoying his time in Late Model racing, a passion he shares with his son, Keelan. (more…)
