Layne Riggs Captures First Truck Series Win at Milwaukee Mile

For the second-straight day, a second-generation rising NASCAR racing star earned his first-career win. This time it was 22-year-old Layne Riggs claiming the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series victory in Sunday’s Playoff-opening LiUNAI 175! at the historic Milwaukee Mile.

Riggs, son of former NASCAR competitor Scott Riggs, took the lead from Ty Majeski with 53 laps remaining and pulled away to a solid 1.547-second victory over the Wisconsin native and a super-motivated group of Playoff drivers, making the rookie driver’s effort all the more impressive. (more…)

Richard Childress Racing has collected seven points-paying victories in NASCAR Cup Series competition at Daytona International Speedway. RCR owns three Daytona 500 wins (Dale Earnhardt – 1998, Kevin Harvick – 2007, Austin Dillon – 2018) and four Coke Zero Sugar 400 trophies (Earnhardt – 1990, 1993, Harvick – 2010, Dillon – 2022).

RCR has won 11 pole positions at Daytona dating back to Ricky Rudd capturing the top starting spot for the 1983 Daytona 500. Other RCR drivers to win pole at Daytona include Dale Earnhardt (1994, 1995 and 1996-500), Mike Skinner (both races in 1997 plus 1998-500), Harvick (2002), Jeff Green (2003-500), Jeff Burton (2006-500), and Dillon (2014-500).

NASCAR has assessed the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing team an L2-level penalty for violating engine rules following the team’s victory in the Food City 500 at Bristol on March 17.

Denny Hamlin has been docked 75 points from the NASCAR Cup Series drivers’ championship and Gibbs docked 75 points from the Cup Series owners’ championship. The team was also docked 10 playoff points. Additionally, Hamlin’s crew chief, Chris Gabehart, has been fined $100,000. (more…)

LIVE OAK, Fla. (Aug. 22, 2024) – Keen’s Buildings, a leading garage and prefab building manufacturer serving the southeastern United States, is excited to have joined Rick Ware Racing as an associate partner of the No. 51 NASCAR Cup Series team and driver Justin Haley for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 Saturday night at Daytona (Fla.)
