NASCAR Brings The Clash to Historic Bowman Gray Stadium on Feb. 2, 2025

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. (Aug. 17, 2024) – Today, NASCAR announced The Clash will come to historic Bowman Gray Stadium for the first-time as the opening exhibition event for the 2025 season on Feb. 2. The announcement was made by Ben Kennedy as part of pre-race for tonight’s NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series event at the racetrack. This will mark the first NASCAR Cup Series event at the racetrack in 54 years. The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium will be broadcast live on FOX.

Justin Allgaier used pit strategy and a fast No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet to take the lead of Saturday’s Cabo Wabo 250 at Michigan International Speedway with 16 laps of regulation remaining and then held off the field in two laps of overtime – before a caution came out ending the race for an accident mid-field. After the completion of NASCAR technical inspection, Jeb Burton would first take to the 2.0-mile Michigan International Speedway (MIS) for a scheduled 15-minute practice session on Friday afternoon. With the field broken into two groups Burton would be a part of Group B. In his first laps on track, Burton would record a best lap of 41.882 at 171.912 mph on Lap-9 of his 12-lap session placing Burton 11th of the 39 cars entered for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) Cabo Wabo 250.
