Sunny skies were finally in the forecast for Coastal Maine on Saturday, allowing for Wiscasset Speedway to successfully host a full Group 1 racing program. (Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted Weekly Racing on Friday, August 11th with 5 divisions of racing action. David Arute scored his first win of the 2023 season with a dominating drive in the SK Modified® feature, Kevin Gambacorta took his fourth win of the season in the Late Model feature, Meghan Fuller was a career first-time winner in the SK Light feature, Rich Hammann used a last lap pass to pick up his first win of the season in the Limited Late Model feature, and Travis Hydar scored his fourth win of the season in the Street Stock feature. Barre, VT — While officials remained optimistic at the conclusion of yesterday’s racing program, the weatherman was once again unkind to Thunder Road on Saturday morning. With a forecasted weather pattern similar to the one that pushed Thursday’s postponement, Thunder Road officials have made the difficult decision to hold off and postpone the McGee Hyundai of Barre program to a new Super Friday date on Friday, September 1st. The rumble of the Modifieds will return to the Thompson high-banks for the 151st time under NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour banner for a crucial race.
Barre, VT — It wouldn’t be a Thursday in Central Vermont, in the summer of 2023, without the threat of rain and today is certainly no different. With rain forecasted to come into the greater Barre area right at Thursday’s Thunder Road post time of 7:00pm and staying through to Midnight tonight, officials opted to play it safe and move the Nolato Night program to tomorrow, Friday, August 11th.
