2017 ARCA Racing Series champion and former NASCAR driver Austin Theriault switched gears earlier this year when he announced that he would be running for state legislature in Maine.
The 28-year-old Fort Kent native and business owner announced his bid for State House in District 1 back in early March and ran as a Republican. On Tuesday, he defeated Democrat challenger Dana Marie Appleby comfortably, though Democrats remained in control of both the House and Senate. (more…)
Over the course of six races, Brad Sweet watched an almost 100-point lead shrink to 16 as David Gravel of Watertown, CT went on a late-season run and now chases Sweet into the World of Outlaws Sprint Car World Finals on November 2, 4-5. Barre, VT — The top runners of the 2022 American-Canadian Tour and Thunder Road seasons were honored with the annual Banquet of Champions in Barre, Vermont on Saturday. Over 300 drivers, team members, family and series staff flooded into the Barre Elks Club to celebrate the season’s accomplishments with over $75,000 in point funds and contingency awards released to the hard-earned weekly warriors of Thunder Road and the touring powerhouse teams of the American-Canadian Tour.
