Darling Does It Again: Eighth Seekonk Championship In Reach With Another Win

SEEKONK, Mass. — Rehoboth’s Dave Darling’s season of dominance continued on Saturday, August 14, as the driver of the No. 52 inched closer to his record eighth track championship. Darling started towards the bottom of the top-10 in the 40 lap race, and without the luxury of a caution, the veteran sliced through the field, passing Mike Brightman for the lead at the halfway point. John Baker Wins Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Modified Race Saturday Night

Saddled with starting 12th in Saturday night’s Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modified feature didn’t deter John Baker of Brookhaven from racing to his second win of the season on I Love American night at Riverhead Raceway as he won the 50-lap feature event. Sicard Goes Two-for-Two in Triple Crown at White Mountain

N. Woodstock, NH — Barton, VT’s Shane Sicard made it two-for-two in the J.P. Sicard Inc. Triple Crown Series by winning the 75-lap Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tiger feature at North Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday, August 14. Sicard took the lead from East Kingston, NH’s Bryan Wall Jr. on a lap-37 restart and couldn’t be touched down the stretch en route to his fourth win of the season.

At Monadnock, Dowling takes Tri Track Modified Win, Fellows Celebrates Late Model Sportsman Victory

Winchester, NH – Saturday night Monadnock Speedway celebrated the return of the Tri Track Modified racing series, the speedway’s 51st anniversary and the life of Johnny Corliss, former racer and car owner. The evenings events tied together nicely. Corliss, a Winchester businessman, was in the field of racers on Monadnock’s opening night, August 13, 1971 and at his passing was owner of one the race cars competing in the Tri Track series. Massachusetts X1 Kart Tracks May Close Forever?

A conversation with former road racer RJ Valentine of Hingham, MA revealed that he does not plan to reopen his X1 indoors on Wood Rd. in Braintree and X1 Outdoors on Rt. 18 in East Bridgewater.  Both race venues were very successful until the Pandemic hit motor racing hard.  In the case of the two local X1 go-kart tracks it was a death blow!
