As a roadgoing vehicle, the Chevy Camaro is officially dead. The final example of the muscle car rolled off the assembly line at GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan on December 14th, 2023, but there’s still some life left in the nameplate, at least as far as motorsports goes. Porsche is tweaking its Porsche Penske Motorsport works team driver lineup for the 2025 season. In contrast to the 2024 season, now just two drivers will regularly contest the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Former Porsche Junior Julien Andlauer from France has been promoted to the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer’s works driver squad for next year. Three-time Le Mans winner André Lotterer from Germany and four-time IMSA Champion Dane Cameron will leave the successful Porsche 963 programme after their contracts expire at the end of the year. Frenchman Frédéric Makowiecki and Porsche Motorsport have agreed to conclude their collaboration after eleven years. (more…)

William Sawalich Joins Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series Lineup in 2025

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (October 21, 2024) – Joe Gibbs Racing announced today that William Sawalich will drive the team’s No. 18 Starkey / SoundGear Toyota GR Supra fulltime in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025. Sawalich, who won the 2023 and 2024 ARCA Menards Series East championships driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, will make his Xfinity Series debut this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The 18-year-old Minnesota native has achieved remarkable success over the past two seasons in the ARCA Menards Series. Over the past two seasons, Sawalich has racked up 18 victories in 39 starts across ARCA’s three platforms – national, east, and west. He recently claimed his first NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series pole award at Talladega Superspeedway, one day after his 18th birthday.

LAS VEGAS, NV (Oct. 17, 2024) – In an announcement from Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) this afternoon, Rackley W.A.R. confirmed that Dawson Sutton will be the team’s full-time driver for the 2025 NCTS race season beginning at Daytona International Speedway in February.

Dawson is expected to wheel the No. 26 for Rackley Roofing Company, Inc. and W.A.R. Shocks. In addition to being the team’s second truck entry, the No. 26 has been Sutton’s number since the start of his driving career in U.S. Legends and throughout his Pro and Super Late Model success. What’s more is the number holds the sentiment of team co-owner Willie Allen, who ran the same number throughout most of his Late Model driving career. (more…)

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (October 16, 2024) – Joe Gibbs Racing announced today that Taylor Gray will drive the team’s No. 54 Toyota GR Supra fulltime in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025. Gray, who currently races in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, has competed part-time for the JGR Xfinity Series team this season.

The 19-year-old New Mexico native has enjoyed success at every stage of his young career. This season, Gray has earned a pair of top-five finishes in the Xfinity Series, including an eye-opening third-place result in his debut at Richmond Raceway in March. In the Truck Series, he qualified for the playoffs in his first full season on the strength of seven top-five finishes and 11 top-10s so far. TEMPERANCE, Mich. — The ARCA Menards Series has announced a television broadcast agreement extension with FS1 and FS2 that features a full season of live television coverage in 2025. Additionally, as part of the new agreement, the 2025 ARCA Menards Series season-opener at Daytona International Speedway will air live on FOX, marking the first time in series history a race has aired on broadcast television.

The relationship, which began with Speedvision in 1999, is now extended through at least 2028. (more…)
