NASCAR Cup Series News & Notes – Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course
For the first time in the NASCAR Cup Series 72-year history, the series will compete at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course in the inaugural Verizon 200 at the Brickyard on August 15 at 1 p.m. ET on NBC, IMS and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course joins the Bristol Motor Speedway Dirt track and the Circuit of The Americas as the third different track the series has debuted at this season.
NASCAR Xfinity Series News & Notes – Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course
Youngster Ty Gibbs got it done again, taking home the victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen International on Saturday. Gibbs, 18, led a race-high and career-best 43 of 82 laps and claimed his third win in 10 starts this season.
This weekend, the series heads to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course for the Pennzoil 150 at the Brickyard on Saturday, August 14 and 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN, IMS and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Kyle Soper Captures Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 Riverhead Raceway Win
On a night where three iconic NASCAR Modified drivers were honored an old school race long duel between eventual winner Kyle Soper of Manorville and defending champion Tom Rogers Jr. of Riverhead highlighted the annual Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway with Soper prevailing. For Soper it was his second Buzz Chew Chevorlet NASCAR Modified feature win in a row and Kyle’s first ever in the 77 just two weeks after stating the race was one he’d like to cross off his racing bucket list. Taking down feature wins were Todd Owen for the second consecutive week in the SK Modified® feature, Kevin Gambacorta in the Late Model feature, Derek Debbis in the SK Light feature, Jeremy Lavoie in the Limited Late Model feature, and Nickolas Hovey in the Street Stock feature. ACT & Thunder Road Announce $5,000 Top Prize at Labor Day Classic
Barre, VT — The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Barre’s Thunder Road have announced the 43rd Berlin Optical Expressions Labor Day Classic on Sunday, September 5 will pay $5,000 to the winner. The 200-lap showdown instantly becomes one of the richest point-counting events of the year on the ACT Late Model Tour schedule. Following a three-week hiatus for the Olympic break, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to action for the regular season finale at Watkins Glen International for the United Rentals 176 on August 7 at 12:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. It will be the first time the Camping World Truck Series has competed at Watkins Glen since 2000.
