Mercedes-AMG GT3 Teams Regulator Racing and JMF Motorsports Sweep Sunday Victories in GT World Challenge America at COTA

AUSTIN, Texas – Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing teams Regulator Racing, JMF Motorsports and CRP Racing combined to sweep the Pro and Pro-Am class race wins and secure three of the overall top four finishing positions in Sunday’s GT World Challenge America powered by AWS feature race at Circuit of The Americas (COTA). Jeff Burton and Philip Ellis scored the overall and Pro-Am class win in the No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 while Mikael Grenier and Michai Stephens took Pro-class honors and an overall second-place finish in the No. 34 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3.

AUSTIN, Texas (April 24, 2025) – With a pair of 2025 milestone race wins already in the record books, GMG Racing has arrived at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) looking for more early-season success in the second full-series event on this year’s SRO America calendar this weekend at the 3.426-mile Lone Star road course. Running four cars across three different SRO America series, GMG Racing won both a GT America powered by AWS Sunday sprint and the series debut race for the all-new McLaren Trophy America championship on Saturday last month in the season-opening weekend of SRO America competition at Sonoma Raceway.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Every “era” of sports car racing has its iconic performers. In IMSA’s more than 50-year history, that’s broken down by top-class periods of who’s starred in prototypes.

With the reborn Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class now three years into the formula, there’s a pattern of stars starting to emerge. There are long-time prototype drivers who raced in the previous Daytona Prototype international (DPi) and Daytona Prototype and/or Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) iterations before GTP competing alongside those whose main top-class experience is focused on GTP.

The hard-earned runner-up results are Washington’s best career finishes at Long Beach and give him a run of four-straight podium finishes in top-tier sports car sprint race series to date that are just part of his early-season success this year.

Starting seventh in the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3, co-drivers Russell Ward and Philip Ellis improved three positions on the 1.968-mile Long Beach street circuit in a clean and competitive run to the finish.
