Justin Allgaier’s 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season didn’t start out the way he had hoped. In five races, the driver of the No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet had only one top-10 finish. Allgaier had been involved in various on-track incidents and started the season at Daytona International Speedway by starting second and finishing 28th. But he turned that all around at Atlanta Motor Speedway last weekend by winning the race and taking home his first victory of the season all while punching his ticket to the Playoffs. (more…)

NASCAR Xfinity Series News & Notes – Atlanta Motor Speedway
The NASCAR Xfinity Series is back on the east coast this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the EchoPark 250 at 5 p.m. ET on FS1, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
The Xfinity Series race will be the second of the day as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series kicks off a doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. ET. (more…)
Track Talk: Phoenix Results for Drivers With New England Connections
Austin Cindric took Saturday’s Xfinity race at Phoenix. Bret Moffit came in ninth driving Cape Cod’s Chris Our entry, and Santino Ferrucci of Woodbury, CT placed 15th.
In Sunday’s Cup race at PIR, Martin Truex, Jr. was the winner, and Joey Logano of Middletown, CT settled for another runner-up spot. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT ended up 26th. Corey LaJoie, son of two-time Xfinity Series Champion Randy LaJoie (a Norwalk, CT native), was 27th after leading the grind in the early going! Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT had another bad day crashing out and placing 37th.
The NASCAR Circus moves to the Atlanta Motor Speedway next weekend.
NASCAR Xfinity Series News & Notes – Phoenix Raceway
AJ Allmendinger took the lead on the final restart of Saturday’s race in Sin City with 12 laps remaining and earned his fourth Xfinity Series win in the last 16 races. This was his first race at the track in three years and the No. 16 Kaulig Chevrolet was able to hold off a hard-charging Daniel Hemric, who led 74 of the 200 laps. (more…)

Richard Childress Racing’s Myatt Snider got his first career victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, while JR Motorsport’s Noah Gragson was left with another heartbreak at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Snider held off a hard-charging Tyler Reddick to win Saturday’s race during the second NASCAR overtime to become the second first-time winner of the 2021 season joining Ty Gibbs (Daytona RC). (more…)

Santino Ferrucci Has Hard Act to Follow in Xfinity Series Debut
Though only 22-years old, Santino Ferrucci of Ridgefield, CT already has a long history in motorsports, but none of that experience has come in stock cars.
A professional driver since age 14, Ferrucci spent two years as a test driver for the Haas F1 team, before turning to IndyCar full-time in 2019. That same year, he finished seventh in the Indianapolis 500 to earn Rookie of the Year honors. (more…)
