Thunder Road Set to Open 64th Season with 25th Community Bank N.A. 150

Barre, VT — The anticipation has been building for Officials, drivers, teams and fans as opening day for The Nation’s Site of Excitement, Barre’s Thunder Road International Speedbowl gets ever closer. Defending track champions Christopher Pelkey, Sam Caron and Dean Switser, Jr. are all set to return this Sunday, May 7t to jump start the 2023 season in year 64 for the venerable Vermont speedbowl. Along with the locals come the invaders as the American-Canadian Tour comes home to celebrate the 25th Annual Community Bank N.A. 150.

Barre, VT — For twenty-four years the American-Canadian Tour has come home to Thunder Road International Speedbowl to open the season for the only asphalt track in the State of Vermont, this Sunday, May 7th will be the silver anniversary of that opening. The Community Bank N.A. 150 not only marks the beginning of the Thunder Road season but also kick-starts a busy three-week stretch for the ACT Tour faithful as the 2023 championship season gets hot and heavy. Barre, VT — Thunder Road officials are happy to announce a new partner in the 2023 season as M&T Bank has signed on to sponsor Round #2 of the Myers Container Flying Tiger Triple Crown on Thursday, June 29th. Along with having all four Thunder Road divisions on tap, June 29th is also an action-packed family fun day at the Central Vermont speed-plant with the annual Kids Rides scheduled and its Scout Night, all Scouts in uniform are admitted free!

Northfield Savings Bank Re-Signs for Three-Year Extension as Vermont Milk Bowl Presenter

Barre, VT — Thunder Road Officials announced today that Northfield Savings Bank has resigned a new three-year deal that will see the largest Vermont-based financial institution continue to present the nationally recognized Vermont Milk Bowl through 2025.

The Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank will once again feature a spectacular $103,100 purse after an ultra-successful 60th edition of ‘The Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America’ last October. (more…)

RFK Racing and Fifth Third Bank to Honor Matt Kenseth at Martinsville

CONDORD, N.C. (Oct. 25, 2022) – RFK Racing and Fifth Third Bank will honor Matt Kenseth and his upcoming induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame with a special paint scheme on Chris Buescher’s No. 17 Ford at the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway. Kenseth, who scored Jack Roush’s first Cup championship in 2003, originally piloted the No. 17 Fifth Third Bank Ford in 2012 and this weekend’s scheme will be a nod to that originally livery.

Early entry forms have been flowing into the Barre, Vermont office in preparation for the $103,000 spectacular that kicks off on Milk Bowl Friday, September 30th with the Pro All Stars Series invasion, continuing with Milk Bowl Qualifying Day on Saturday, October 1st and wrapping up with the Milk Bowl itself on Sunday, October 2nd.

Barre, VT — With 117 cars on hand for the 63rd Season Opener at Thunder Road International Speedbowl, 17 qualifying races were needed before the four feature races took the green creating some of the best stock car racing in the United States at the ‘Nation’s Site of Excitement.’ When all the dust settled Sunday afternoon, a first time winner stood amongst hardened veterans and the ‘King of Barre’ remained on his throne.
